WACKY ARRESTS!Incompetent CriminalsBanks often have special packs of money to give to bank robbers during a heist. They contain dye packs that explode and dye the money pink or some other outlandish color, thus identifying it as stolen money. One genius crook apparently, didn't think anyone knew that because he paid his electric bill with currency that was dyed pink. He's probably still wondering how the cops knew he was the one who robbed the bank. I forgot it was there! In South Carolina a police officer stopped a driver for a minor traffic violation. The officer and motorist were talking and the cop was about to let him go with just a warning, but then changed his mind instead arrested him. Why? He noticed something sticking up behind the man's right ear, a marijuana cigarette. As he was being handcuffed and escorted to the officer's cruiser he said to the cop, "Man, I forgot it was there." Odd "Crimes" HappenTwo guys driving down a street quickly deduced that there was a party in progress and decided to crash it. One of them asked the host if he wanted to get high, and produced some psychedelic mushrooms and cocaine. The two druggies were astounded when their "host" arrested them. He was a narcotics officer. Most of the invited partygoers were cops, too, so there was no problem detaining them until the on-duty police could haul them off to jail. Wrong SizeSome crooks are just never satisfied. A woman shoplifted some trousers, then a few days later called the store and asked if she could exchange them for a bigger size. The storekeeper checked stock, realized that the pants had been stolen, and told her to bring them back. When she arrived to exchange the pants, the cops were waiting. She won't need the slacks since she'll be in jail garb for awhile. Name Calling Doesn't PayA young man climbed the fence at a golf course, and stole a golfer's purse from her golf cart. Another golfer chased the guy who then jumped back over the fence, and commenced to call his pursuer a number of obscene names. Then he reached into the purse, grabbed a cell phone and threw it at the man. The golfer picked up the phone and dialed 911. It took only minutes for the cops to catch the purse-snatcher. Who can you trust? The stealthy burglars were looting a store in a suburb of Los Angeles, when a business owner nearby saw them. He said he didn't care for the owner of that business, so that he'd be quiet about their activities. The burglars believed him! He went into his store and called the cops. A few minutes later they were in custody, and were heard grumbling to one another about not being able to trust anyone. You can't say that in courtSome politicians have a skewed view of crime. The mayor of one city, accused of not paying his taxes, said: "I haven't committed a crime. What I did was fail to comply with the law." Then there's the police chief who said of his city and crime: "The streets are safe in this city. It's only the people who make them unsafe." And a political aide who was taking heat over a gift, said, "I didn't accept it. I received it." He Didn't Get the JobThere's a saying that you get only one chance to make a good first impression, but it takes only one time to make a really bad-impression, too. When Hank applied for a job at a construction site, he left the interview in handcuffs. Why? The day before, he has burglarized the site and employee's car, taking more than $1,000 in goods. It was all caught on a surveillance camera's videotape. Obviously, he didn't get the job.
